Susan Aglukark Christmas Concert - Dec 12 @ 7:30PM

Posted 14/11/13 in EVENTS

The Woodland Cultural Centre is pleased to present Susan Aglukark for a one night only Christmas Concert. This performance is presented as a part of Woodland's -Tehonkieron:nions (They are Entertaining) series. A performing arts series funded by the generous support of the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Ontario Arts Council.

Featuring music from her new Christmas album -  Dreaming of Home.

Susan Aglukark is one of Canada’s most unique and most honored artists. An Inuk from Arviat, Nunavut, Susan has released her latest recording, a Christmas album titled Dreaming of Home.

Produced by Chad Irschick, Dreaming of Home is a collection of uplifting contemporary seasonal favourites, a combination of traditional and contemporary music, sung in English and her mother tongue Inuktitut. Susan has re-recorded some Christmas traditional songs like Silent Night and has also re-done one of her personal favourites Old Toy Trains.

“The selection of songs on this new album was inspired by the realization that for many of us Christmas is often celebrated away from home, away from loved ones, and coming to the place in our lives where home is where the heart is, we can make where ever we are, home”.

Please join Susan and her band for an intimate evening of acoustic Christmas music.

Space is limited so it is encouraged to purchase your tickets early.
Tickets are $20.00CAD and can be purchased from the Woodland Cultural Centre museum reception CASH ONLY
