The future of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School building lies with the community!  Built in 1904, the former Mohawk Institute Residential School Building is currently in need of major renovations.  Due to the cost of renovations, the Woodland Cultural Centre is seeking your help in determining whether or not the building should be saved.

Currently the building houses Woodland's library, language department, boardroom, finance and maintenance offices, as well as offices for other Aboriginal businesses.  It is used on a daily basis for tours, which serves as a revenue generator for Woodland, and as the only remaining residential school building in Southern Ontario, represents a significant landmark in Canadian history.
