InterNations/InterSections Artist talk - October 3 @ 3PM

Posted 15/09/22 in EVENTS

InterNations/InterSections premiered at Fort York July 13, 2015, where it rested beneath the Gardner Expressway until August 10th, 2015.

Now on site at the Woodland Cultural Centre we invite all to join us as we commemorate the project and enjoy an afternoon with featured artists, Kelly Greene (The Haldimand Coupe) and Kevin Lamure (Up the Creek).

InterNations/InterSections is an exhibition featuring the commissioned works of four artists: Kelly Greene, Kevin Lamure, Kent Monkman and Doug Smarch.  Each artist was challenged with the concept of transportation for First Nations people.  The results were four unique large-scale works challenging and addressing concepts of identity, iconography, adaption, and indigenous rights.

The commissions and exhibition has been generously funded by the Toronto 2015 PANAMANIA & CIBC, along with additional funding received from the Toronto Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Ontario Arts Council.
