Location:  184 Mohawk Street, Brantford, ON  N3T 5V6
Job Status: ​Full-Time
Hours: ​37.5 hours per week
​Salary Range: $52,000 - $65,00
 
​The Woodland Cultural Centre is seeking one highly motivated individual who will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for the development and recommendations to all program and work objectives, policies, projects, and activities for the Centre and their implementations.  Directing the activities of the Centre and its staff toward achievement of established goals, objectives and plans; keeps informed on the environment in which the Centre operates; approves and prepares all reports and studies prepared for the Board of Directors; develops and recommends to the fundraising committee a long term plan for capital and operating requirements of the Centre; promotes a favourable image of the Centre.  Preference will be given to applicants of First Nations ancestry.
 
​Basic Job Description:
  • Carries out the policies and directives established by the Board of Directors
  • Responsible to the Board for the general administration, organization and management of the Centre in accordance to policies established by the Board.
  • Establishes budget necessary to produce programs.
  • Ensures effective lines of communication within the organization.
  • Ensures that adminstrative controls eg. reports, audits are produced and inspections are carried out as scheduled.
  • Reports to the Board on effectiveness of public relations and fundraising methods and techniques used by the Centre.
  • Undertakes annual evaluations and probationary evaluations of the staff.

​Qualifications:

  • Possesses a B.A. in Arts Administration, Business Administration Commerce, Public Administration, or Social Sciences and/or a B.A. whose curriculum is heavily weighted in the management field.
  • Has five years of management experience, part of which would be in senior management
  • Is proficient in all aspects of management or an organiztion and supervision of staff
  • Possesses experience with fundraising and promotion
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Must be bondable
